How much does shipping cost?

Flat-pack boxes are generally large and heavy items, which can attract high freight rates. Generally, we ship with a courier for orders of 1–250 units, though this may vary depending on the product. For orders over 250–300 units, we can organise pallet delivery to anywhere within the country at a competitive rate.

Please contact 03 9301 8833 to speak to our customer service team about your bulk order and a competitive shipping rate.

Are all your plain/unprinted boxes in stock and ready for despatch?

We have a large range of unprinted boxes in stock and ready for immediate despatch. However, some of our plain unprinted packaging is not held in stock and is made to order for you.

Do you offer custom sizes?

We can make custom-sized boxes. However, we do not offer custom sizes in the same small quantities as our in-stock ranges. Custom-sized boxes will attract their own MOQ (starting from 500–1,000 units), and lead times are dependent on the board grade you need.

If you are just starting out and want to keep costs low, we recommend selecting a box from our site that is as close as possible to the dimensions you need.

Can you design my artwork for me?

Yes, we certainly can. Whilst we have an easy-to-use design platform, we also offer an in-house graphic design service for a minimal fee.

This service takes around 3–5 business days for artwork proof from the submission of your artwork brief and order. We will provide you with up to two revisions. The artwork fee is $300 ex GST.

Are there any other sizes for a particular box I like?

We have a range of predefined styles and popular sizes available online. However, if it’s not exactly the size you require, simply submit an enquiry with your specifications, and we will create your ideal customised packaging.

Are the quoted box dimensions external or internal dimensions?

The quoted dimensions on a product detail page for boxes are internal dimensions. Some product descriptions may also include the product’s external dimensions.

How to measure a box?

To measure a box, use a ruler or measuring tape to determine its length, width, and height. Listed dimensions are always internal and measured in millimetres. When providing dimensions, they must follow the industry-standard order: Length × Width × Height (L × W × H).

What’s the difference between Kraft/Brown and Clay/White stock?

Claycoat White is our recommended stock choice for making colours “pop” with exceptional quality. Kraft/Brown is well-suited to designs that use dark, bold colours. Using bright and vibrant colours on Kraft/Brown may result in a duller colour resolution.

Can I recycle the boxes?

Yes of course, all of our boxes are 100% recyclable. Remember to reuse or recycle.

Are your boxes made with recycled materials?

Yes, our boxes are made with both recycled and virgin papers depending on board grade.

Can I include white ink in my design?

At present, our digital printing process for custom-printed mailers cannot print white ink. If you want to include white in your design, we recommend using our Claycoat White boxes and incorporating white through “negative space” (i.e. leaving the areas you want to be white as blank space).

You can also add objects and colour them white, and our software will automatically convert these objects into negative space.

Warning: On a brown box, white objects will allow the natural brown colour of the box to show through.

Is my artwork printed on gloss or matte board?

Depending on the product and material you select, printing will be done on either a gloss white claycoat board or a matte white board. Under ‘Material Options’ on the product page, you can view the material attributes. All brown boxes have a matte finish.

Can I cancel an order?

Once you have completed your design, placed your order, and made payment, your job enters an automated processing system and cannot be cancelled. We strongly recommend checking your order carefully before finalising, as once it has been placed, it cannot be cancelled.

What is the tolerance of the dimensions of a box?

The Australian standard is + / - 3mm on the dimension of a cardboard box.

Do you offer bulk discounts for large orders?

We offer a variety of pricing tiers to accommodate bulk orders. If you require more than the largest quantity listed, please contact us directly for a custom bulk order price. Our team can also arrange logistics for bulk orders delivered directly to your door.

What types of cardboard packaging do you offer?

We offer over 100 different styles of boxes designed to suit a wide range of needs. Our selection includes sizes from small to extra-large, as well as specialised boxes for storage, e-commerce, small business operations, and even shipping frozen goods internationally.

If you need a specific box size that is not listed on Abbe Express, we are happy to accommodate custom size orders. Please contact our team.

Do you offer custom printing or branding on boxes?

We offer custom printing and branding on most of our box range, from simple logo placement to more complex designs. To check whether the product you're interested in supports custom printing, click on the ‘Printed’ tab on the product page.

Custom print items include a downloadable dieline for you or your designer to use when creating artwork. Alternatively, our in-house design service can manage the entire process—from concept to completion.

What does "internal dimensions" mean?

Internal dimensions refer to the measurements—length (L), width (W), and depth (D)—of the inside of a box or container. These measurements determine the amount of space available for packing items. When selecting a box, consider the internal dimensions to ensure your items will fit comfortably.

Who do you ship with?

Due to the size and weight of flat-packed boxes, we do not use Australia Post.

To ensure efficient and prompt delivery, we work with a range of courier companies. For pallet deliveries, we partner with established logistics providers who deliver throughout Australia.

Which items ship on a pallet?

The decision to ship items on a pallet depends on the size and weight of the product.

For example, several of our products are flat-packed in batches of 25 units. Smaller orders, such as 75 units, can be shipped as three separate batches of 25. Larger orders, such as 250 units (ten batches of 25), are more cost-effective to ship on a pallet.

This also reduces the risk of a batch being lost in transit, as everything is secured on a single pallet. If your order requires pallet shipping, our in-house logistics team can arrange Australia-wide delivery at competitive rates.
